MANILA, Jan. 12 — Caloocan City Mayor Enrico "Recom" Echiverri on Tuesday urged all business establishments to conduct a citywide discounted sale of their products as part of the 48th Foundation Day celebration of the city on Feb. 16.

This was after the Caloocan local chief executive signed executive order (EO) 002-10 which encourages all businesses to provide discounts to customers including the sale of food, drinks and alcohol for the whole month of February.

According to the mayor, EO 002-10 would allow the public, especially the residents, to partake in the foundation celebration and allow them to enjoy more what Caloocan has to offer.

He said the citywide sale is just one of the many month-long activities the city has prepared to make Caloocan's anniversary more meaningful.

These include the conduct of grand parades, games, beauty pageants, amateur singing contests, battle of the bands, and other activities prepared by the city government that are sure to make the residents feel that they are a part of the festivities.

Echiverri's call for a citywide sale on products also ensures that those on a tight budget are given a chance to experience the best of Caloocan without the need to spend more.

Likewise, it allows for the creation of employment opportunities and stimulates economic activities by encouraging investors and businessmen to invest in the city.

Echiverri, meanwhile, directed the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) to coordinate the conduct of the citywide sale and has ordered the public information office (PIO) to disseminate important details about the activity. (PNA)
