KALAHI-KBP projects completed in Surigao City

SURIGAO CITY, Nov. 10 – Infrastructure projects of the "Kapit-Bisig laban sa Kahirapan (KALAHI) Para sa Kalayaan Barangays" Program (KBP) were completed and officially turned over Monday to local government unit officials.

The KALAHI-KBP projects continue to provide selected barangays in Surigao City, particularly in far-flung villages, with the much-needed basic infrastructure facilities.

The turn-over ceremony of the newly-renovated health center and the newly-built two-classroom building at Barangay Mabini, this city, has again proved the national and local government’s commitment to provide the best for its people even in the far-flung barangays, said Surigao City Mayor Alfonso S. Casurra.

Mayor Casurra represented the city government on the occasion while Vice-Governor Noel Catre the provincial government during the blessing of the completed KALAHI-KBP projects. The affair was attended by other local officials.

Other KALAHI-KBP projects that are scheduled to be turned over before the yearend are the health center, school building, water system and farm-to-market road in Barangays Mapawa and Sukailang, both of Surigao City.

“The city and provincial government and the Philippine Army are committed to continue this KALAHI-KBP projects in far-flung areas to uplift the living condition of our constituents,” said Mayor Casurra in his message. (PNA)
