MANILA, Oct. 28 — The Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) will be deploying uniformed policemen to keep watch over the city’s seven major cemeteries this coming All Saints weekend.

The security contingent will be deployed to guard Sangandaan, Eternal Gardens, La Loma, Bagong Silang, Serenity, Bagbaguin, Forest Park and Tala cemeteries this Nov. 1 and 2.

It added the activation of this security force will start on the morning of Oct. 30 so that cemetery early goers will be protected against criminal elements waiting for such opportunity.

The CCPS added all its operatives detailed at the cemeteries are ordered to strictly implement the liquor ban which starts on Oct. 31 to Nov. 2.

Aside from this, the 500-strong police contingent were instructed to severely deal with persons caught sneaking in deadly weapons, illegal narcotics, gambling paraphernalia and stereo component.

The CCPS said half-naked men loitering in the cemeteries during the annual celebration will also be accosted and sent out by police personnel.

It estimates that between 200 to 300 civilian volunteers, mostly coming from Caloocan’s barangay tanod, traffic and amateur radio operator force, will be assisting the CCPS in keeping the peace in all of the seven cemeteries.

Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and mobile patrol units will be on stand-by alert during All Saints and Souls weekend in case any emergency situations erupt. (PNA)
