BACOLOD CITY, Sept. 30 — The Provincial Disaster Management Team (PDMT) division raised the “alert status” for the Negrenses, especially those living in the coastal and upland barangays and low-lying areas over the forecasted tropical depression which is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility Wednesday afternoon or early evening.

Dave Cuajao, weather forecaster of PDMT, said that warnings were already sent, especially on the fishers’ community, to observe weather update and if possible to refrain from their fishing activities as a precautionary measure against any possible untoward sea accidents.

The move came following the devastation and vast damages of tropical storm Ondoy that left hundreds of people dead in hard-hit Luzon region, including Metro Manila. Ondoy damaged at least 80 percent of the entire Luzon region. (PNA)
