Valenzuela is aided in this initiative by the ABS-CBN Foundation, Sagip Kapamilya Group, and teachers and parents organization based in the city.

The seminars focused on life preservation tips especially on times of massive earthquakes and flooding.

Participants will be taught the fastest way to evacuate a building, what items to bring, and how to determine if a area is safe from flash floods or from the effects of aftershocks.

"In view of the unforeseen circumstances brought about by calamity or any emergency, this exercise will test the capability of our emergency services units to respond to emergency situations, promptly and efficiently," Valenzuela Mayor Sherwin "Win" Gatchalian said.

He said that the city government has been religiously regularly conducting fire and earthquake drills even since the National Disaster Coordinating Council – Office of Civil Defense (NDCC-OCD) issued out its Feb. 10 memorandum calling on local government units to hone their disaster preparedness through the frequent practice of emergency drills.
