Lim to City Hall employees: Always render ‘service with a smile’

MANILA, Aug. 15 — Mayor Alfredo S. Lim has instructed all Manila City Hall employees to render "service with a smile at any given time."

The mayor made the pronouncement at the recent blessing of the newly-renovated office of the city hall's business license division, where he stressed that no matter what physical changes are done in an office, "it is always the employees attending to the transacting public that actually matter."

In his short speech, Lim cited the important role of the employees, including inspectors and examiners under the said division headed by Atty. Maribeth Sanchez, in the city government's income generating efforts.

He called on those at the frontlines, particularly the tellers manning the windows and those in charge of reception, "to give a ready smile for whoever needs their help."

Most importantly, he said, those in public service should at all times mark their work with utmost dedication and integrity.

For her part, Sanchez enjoined those under her to continue working for a common purpose, which is providing quality service, especially after much improvement in their working environment.

The newly-renovated license division now has a mini- conference room, an employees’ lounge, general office space, records room and a modern taxpayers’ lobby.

During the same occasion, the employees reaffirmed their oath of office under Lim’s chief of staff Ric de Guzman. (PNA) scs/JES
