ILOILO CITY, April 23 – The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) will bring its Charity Caravan to Antique province as part of its goal of "spreading the charity virus from Batanes down to Zamboanga."

PCSO Board of Director Raymundo Roquero said he personally requested that the caravan be brought to the province because he is from Antique. The caravan includes a package of motorcade, mini-concerts and medical and dental missions.

Antique will be the third area in Western Visayas that was identified by the PCSO for the caravan. This caravan is part of the activities lined up for its 75th foundation anniversary.

Last week the caravan was in Negros and last Tuesday in Iloilo City.

A total of 3,500 indigents from Iloilo City and its neighboring municipalities benefited from the half-day medical mission that gathered 60 volunteer doctors, 21 dentists, 130 nurses and 82 allied healthcare personnel.

Before Iloilo City, the Charity Caravan 2009 had provided free medical services as well as entertainment to the people of Batanes, Nueva Vizcaya, Davao City, Cebu City, Palawan and Bacolod City in Negros Occidental.

Aside from Antique the caravan will also visit Ilocos Sur, Isabela, Bohol, Quezon, Batangas, Cagayan de Oro, Tarlac, La Union, Zamboanga del Sur, Camarines Norte, Nueva Ecija, Leyte and Samar provinces. (PNA)
