Mexico to cut CO2 emissions by 50 million tons by 2012: president

MEXICO CITY, Sept. 3 — Mexican President Felipe Calderon announced on Thursday that his country will reduce the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 50 million tons by the end of 2012, thus becoming the first developing country to achieve this goal.
