CITY OF CAUAYAN, Isabela, Oct. 4 (PNA) — Anti-drug agents on Monday have lodged charges against a Public Order and Safety Unit (POSU) member of the city government here after he was nabbed on Saturday night while allegedly selling a sachet of shabu to a poseur-buyer in a buy-bust at Victoria Hotel in Tagaran village here.
Suspected drug pusher Abelardo Bala, who has been deployed for a year as a POSU night patrol officer, has been facing charges for breaching Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and New Firearms Law when he was caught with two sachets of alleged methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu by PDEA agents and Cauayan City police on Saturday at 10:30 in the evening.
He also yielded Php 1,500 marked bills and a Cal. 9mm gun.
Deputy public order and safety unit chief Antonio de Luna Jr said he was dismayed with Bala as his arrest allegedly put the agency in a bad light.
Bala was temporarily placed under police custody.(PNA)
