Comelec completes proclamation of winners in Bacolod City

BACOLOD CITY, May 11 (PNA) — The City Board of Canvassers here (CBOC) completed Wednesday the proclamation of all winners in the May 9 elections in this city.

The CBOC chaired by City Election Officer Mavil Majarucon-Sia convened at the Sangguniang Panlungsod session hall.

On Tuesday, proclaimed were Grupo Progreso’s incumbent Rep. Evelio Leonardia and Councilor El Cid Familiaran as winners for mayor and vice mayor, respectively.

Leonardia defeated incumbent Mayor Monico Puentevella, with 120,231 votes against Puentevella’s 97,993.

Familiaran, with 108,360 votes, won against businessman Vladimir Gonzalez, who had 86,611 votes.

Vice Mayor Greg Gasataya, also of Grupo Progreso, was elected congressman and will succeed Leonardia. He garnered 85,467 votes to win against closest opponent former vice mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, who got 84,431.

Proclaimed as councilors on Tuesday were Ricardo Tan, Caesar Distrito, Cindy Rojas, Renecito Novero, Em Ang, Elmer Sy, Dindo Ramos, and Bartolome Orola, all of Grupo Progreso.

On Wednesday, the four Pamilya MKK winning candidates for councilor were also proclaimed, including Ana Marie Palermo, Wilson Gamboa Jr., Claudio Puentevella, and Sonya Verdeflor, who are all reelectionists. (PNA)
