COTABATO CITY, Dec. 20 – A Cotabato City councilor has asked the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) to establish a branch in the city to cater to professionals here.

Majority Floor Leader Councilor Graham Nasser Dumama has filed two resolutions before the Sangguniang Panglungsod asking SEC and PRC to establish satellite offices here so professionals will no longer spend much in travelling to Davao City to transact business with the two government agencies.

In its session Friday, the city council approved Dumama’s proposed resolution bringing good news to professionals in Cotabato City and nearby provinces of Maguindanao and North Cotabato.

“The number of our professionals is rising here, so a PRC satellite office would be of great help for them because they will no longer need to go to other areas to apply or renew PRC licenses,” Dumama said.

As for the SEC, Dumama said investments have been coming left and right in Cotabato City and in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

Dumama was optimistic the two Manila-based agencies would consider his resolution. (PNA)
