Dao, Laua-an cooperatives awarded as most outstanding in Antique

SAN JOSE, Antique, Dec. 7 -– Two cooperatives were awarded as most outstanding during the Regional Agri-Aqua Trade Fair 2015 opening Monday for their excellent performance.

Antique Governor Hon. Rhodora Cadiao, assisted by Vice-Governor Edgar Denosta and chairperson of the Provincial Cooperative Development Council Felimon M. Espares, awarded the Dao Multi-Purpose Cooperative in the large scale category, while the Laua-an Multi-Purpose Cooperative received the most outstanding cooperative award in medium scale category.

The awarding was also part of the yearly Binirayan Festival that kicked off Monday in Antique province, declared as the cooperative capital of Region VI.

Dao Multi-Purpose Cooperative received the award for its excellent financial management being operationally gainful, without external borrowing.

The Laua-an Multi-Purpose Cooperative was also awarded as most outstanding cooperative for being profitable and engaged in various business enterprises such as lending, grocery, and hardware. It has very minimal external borrowings, good governance, record management and is compliant with the requirement of the regulatory agency.
