ILOILO CITY, Oct 22 — Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. said that until now he has not yet received the list of nominees where he could choose who will be the next Iloilo Provincial Police Office (IPPO) director.

Defensor, in a press conference Thursday morning, said that until now he was still awaiting the list from Camp Crame so that he could already select the police officer who would take over the position of outgoing IPPO Dir. Cornelio Salinas who could have ended his two-year tour of duty last July yet.

Salinas was extended by Defensor until after the APEC meeting this October 6.

Salinas, in media interview, said that it was the prerogative of the governor to choose who would replace him. He said that he was looking forward to a promotion or an assignment at the Police Regional Office 6 after his stint at the IPPO.

The governor added that among the qualities he is only looking for the next IPPO chief is that he is honest, intelligent, efficient and articulate.

He said that the police officer should be able to live within his income and not be engaged in any illegal activity just to make money. (PNA)
