ILOILO CITY, Oct. 20 — The Iloilo City Health Office (CHO) recorded 268 dengue cases in this city without death as of August this year, down 937 cases from 1,205 with four deaths during the same period last year.

But Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog said Ilonggos should not be complacent and conduct intensified anti-dengue drive through massive cleanup operations to get rid of breeding places of mosquitoes.

Mabilog encouraged the community to work together and be vigilant in the battle against the dreaded mosquito-borne disease.

The downtrend in dengue cases are attributed to heightened public health awareness against the deadly disease as well as early medical attention to safeguard the health of patients. (PNA)
