DONG NAI, Sept. 1 — Over 3,500 dengue fever cases, including three deaths, have been reported in the southern province of Dong Nai since early this year.

Dong Nai's Health Department director Cao Trong Nguong said dengue cases had been reported in all 11 districts in the locality, with Bien Hoa City having the largest number of dengue infections.

About 300 new cases are being reported each week in the province. The surge in the number of the disease's cases has been overloading local hospitals.

The provincial health sector has asked relevant agencies and offices to prevent the disease from spreading by raising public awareness and spraying mosquito repellents in high-risk areas. (PNA/VNS)
