MAHB records 10-M passenger movements in July

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 10 — The malaysia Airport Holdings Bhd (MAHB) system of airports, including the Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen International Airport (SGIA), handled a record 10 million passenger movements with a double-digit increase of 16.7 percent compared to July 2014.

In a statement today, MAHB said domestic traffic recorded 5.6 million passengers with 22.2 percent growth while international traffic recorded 4.4 million passengers with a 10.4 percent increase year-on-year (yoy) compared with the same period a year ago.

On the domestic front at the malaysia level along, July 2015 passenger traffic experienced a remarkable growth turnaround, recording 7.2 million passengers, or 12.7 percent over July 2014.

"Domestic sector registered a robust 17.9 percent growth with 3.7 million passengers," it said.

MAHB said international sector recorded the second positive growth this year with 7.7 percent increase.

"Overall, aircraft movements increased by 10.5 percent with domestic and international registering 12.4 percent and 7.3 percent, respectively, over July 2014," it said. (PNA/Bernama)
