LP stalwart says: 'TSONA of VP Binay misleading to gain support'

MANILA, Aug. 3 — The True State-of-the-Nation Address (TSONA) delivered by Vice President Jejomar Binay was his own way to misguide the Filipino people, aiming to convert this into vote, Liberal Party Vice President for Political Affairs and Caloocan City Rep. Edgar Erice said on Monday.

"This is how Binay retaliates to the Aquino administration whom he served for the last five years as member of the Cabinet," Erice told House reporters when asked about his reaction to the Vice President's speech.

Erice pointed out that instead of explaining how he and his group would improve the lives of the Filipino people, Binay decided to be quiet on such issue and blamed the government for all possible shortcomings which he has been part of.

The LP stalwart explained that this only started when Binay resigned from the Cabinet and felt that he could not get the anointment of President Benigno S. Aquino III to be the standard-bearer of the administration for the 2016 presidential polls.

Erice pointed out that this was not the true SONA as Binay claimed, using dirty tactics of mudslinging by squeezing the healing wounds to bleed it further so that people would get mad of the government.

“If he has a chance to be anointed as the standard- bearer of the administration, would you agree with me that this is a complete reverse of what he is doing now?,” Quezon City 6th District Rep. Christopher "Kit" Belmonte said.

“Idol, walang basagan ng trip. Yan ang pananaw ni VP Binay. Hayaan na natin sya. Taumbayan na ang bahalang humusga kung sino ang paniniwalaan nila: si VP o si P'Noy,” Quezon City 3rd District Rep. Jorge Banal Jr. said in a separate interview. (PNA)
