BAGUIO CITY, July 27 (PNA) — Baguio City Representative Nicasio Aliping Jr. said the last State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Benigno Aquino III delivered today, Monday, enumerated the administration’s accomplishments which are supported by statistics.

The lawmaker hailed the speech of the Chief Executive which lasted a little over two hours, and said it showed that the “tuwid na daan (straight path)” battle cry of the Aquino Administration is well underway to its realization.

The President may not have mentioned anything about the Cordillera Autonomy but this will not hamper the clamor of the Cordillera people, he said.

“It will be our (Cordillera leaders) inspiration to legislate for our common right, we will pursue enacting a law for our autonomy,” Aliping said.

A former teacher, Joanna Cruz, said that the President presented a good number and statistics in classrooms, teachers and chairs.

She admitted that more classrooms, teachers and chairs are needed in order to accommodate the increasing number of pupils and most of them are in far-flung and remote barangays around the country.

President Aquino’s administration promised transformations and his administration has only a year left to realize these promises, Cruz said. (PNA)
