Appointment of Pangasinan tourism officer confirmed

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, June 15 — The appointment of Maria Luisa Elduayan as provincial tourism officer of Pangasinan was confirmed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) in its regular session today, Monday.

With the confirmation, Elduayan, officer-in-charge of the Tourism Operations Division (TOD) of the provincial government of Pangasinan, is now the full-fledged tourism officer of the province.

In her speech before the SP, Elduayan vowed to “spread out tourism benefits to everyone” in all the six districts of the province.

Elduayan also served as the head of the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO).

The appointment of Elduayan was signed by Gov. Amado Espino Jr.

"After careful examination, scrutiny and review of the qualification, records, and experiences of the recomendee, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan finds out the appointment of Ms. Mari Luisa Elduayan meritorious and therefore interposes no objection to said appointment”.

The resolution confirming the appointment of Elduayan was authored by Vice Governor Jose Ferdinand Calimlin Jr. and Board Member Generoso Tulagan Jr.

Section 463 paragraph d of Republic Act 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, provides the heads of departments and offices shall be appointed by the local chief executive with the concurrence of the majority of all members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan. (PNA)
