MIAGAO, Iloilo, May 20 — The Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) is eyeing to cover some 100 hectares in this municipality for its Participatory Coconut planting Project (PCPP).

Joel Solis, PCA officer in charge, said that a farmer will receive P18 for every coconut seedling that will be planted and an additional P22 will be given for each “stabilized” seedling.

Aside from getting paid, the coconut tree will also be given to them as an added incentive.

The project that is implemented in cooperation with the local government unit of Miagao aims to increase the coconut population, for the replacement of coconuts that have been cut and especially to help the farmers.

Interested farmers are advised to coordinate with the LGU or may visit the PCA office in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo. (PNA)
