MANILA, April 29 — PNP Officer-in-Charge, Police Deputy Director General Leonardo A. Espina on Wednesday formally welcomed the 225 youngest members of the PNP Officer Corps who reported for duty at the National Headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

According to Espina, the 225 newly-commissioned Police Inspectors from the “Lakandula” Class of 2015 of the Philippine National Police Academy reported for duty after graduating from the academy last March.

Espina emphasized to the new officers the need to maintain the trust and confidence of the people through genuine and courageous service –one that requires greater sense of responsibility.

“Always bear this in your mind from this day on until you all retire, it is to serve and to protect our people. Lift up your true service to our countrymen,” he added.

In the end, he urged the new officers to bear in mind that whatever they do will affect not only their service to the people but also the welfare of their fellow police officers and the community.

For his part, class president Dennis Yuzon Jr. proudly proclaimed that the “Lakandula” class is ready to serve and protect the people.

The New Police Inspectors each received individual checks of Php37,303.54 representing their 1st monthly salary and Php14,000 Initial Clothing Allowance from the PNP Finance Service during the ceremony.

All 225 Police Inspectors also received their individual equipment kit that included the Glock 17 Gen 4, sidearm police badge and other individual equipment.

The Directorate for Personnel and Records Management also issued them their Individual Appointment Order and other Assignment Orders as they will undergo further orientation and mandatory and specialized training courses before deployment to line units. (PNA)
