ILOILO CITY, April 29 — The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) is looking for 72 students who will qualify for its Overseas Filipino Workers Dependents Scholarship Program (ODSP) for this school year.

OWWA Director Ron Lionel Bartolome said that they proportionate the slots to 12 for every province.

The scholarship is open to dependents of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who earn a monthly income of USD 400 or below.

Since there is no qualifying examination, the applicants will be ranked based on their general weighted average.

To qualify, applicants are advised to submit an accomplished application form, two copies 2×2 pictures (studio/white background), proof of relationship to the OWWA member (NSO Birth Certificate of applicant, if he/she is the child of an OFW; NSO Birth Certificate of applicant and OFW, if applicant is the sibling of the unmarried OFW), Proof of active OWWA membership (OWWA receipt of record), Form 137 and proof of enrollment in state college/university.

Interested applicants can get the application form from the OWWA Regional Office VI located at the 3rd floor of the Robinsons Place, Iloilo City.

OWWA, an attached agency of Department of Labor and Employment, aside from giving education and skills training, also gives insurance, health benefits and social services to OFW dependents. (PNA)
