BACOLOD CITY, April 28 — It’s all set for the visit of President Benigno S. Aquino III in Negros Occidental on April 30.

"It’s definite," the governor said.

Personnel of the Presidential Management Staff (PMS) and members of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) already arrived in the province to prepare the venues to be visited by Aquino.

Based on the scheduled approved by the PMS, the President will only inaugurate the Negros First Rice Processing Center in Barangay Tabunan, Bago City, and the Negros First Cyber Centre in Bacolod City, where he is set to deliver a message.

Aquino will no longer go to Candoni town in southern Negros and will not also attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit meeting hosted by the city on April 29 and 30.

The President's dialogue with the local officials will not also push through, the governor said.

"Except for the time and other minor details, preparations for the presidential visit are already in place," Marañon said.

Expected to join the President are Interior and Local Government Secretary Manuel Roxas II and Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Director General Lilia De Lima.

Marañon said he is praying that President Aquino can already make a decision on the proposed Negros Island Region (NIR) when he arrives in the province on Thursday.(PNA)
