PNP opens annual sports training program

MANILA, April 9 — With the vacation season in high gear, the Philippine National Police announced that its annual PNP Summer Sports Training Program is now open to all interested uniformed and non-uniformed personnel.

Opening took place last April 7 and will last the entire summer months. It is being implemented by the PNP Headquarters Support Service.

Sports training offered include arnis, aikido, basketball, boxing, ballroom dancing, badminton, chess, karate-do, judo, lawn tennis, muai-thai, swimming, table tennis, and taekwondo.

All PNP personnel, non-uniformed personnel, PNP dependents and other civilians who are duly sponsored or endorsed by PNP personnel could take part in the said program that is designed to promote their overall well-being through enhancing their physical and mental skills.

Camaraderie, discipline and other positive values are also expected to be acquired through active participation in the aforementioned sports.

PNP officer-in-charge, Deputy Director General Leonardo A. Espina said, “Camaraderie, discipline and other positive values are also expected to be acquired through active participation in the aforementioned sports.”

Registration is still on-going at the PNP Sports Center Office located at the PNP Gymnasium in Camp Crame, Quezon City. No registration fee is required.
