MOSCOW, March 5 — Secret services have found confirmation to the data on incipient contacts between Islamic State and the terrorists operating in North Caucasus, the secretary of Russia’s Security Council, Nikolay Patrushev told reporters on Wednesday.

"The data on the rising contacts between Islamic State and the terrorist groupings in North Caucasus has received confirmation," he said. "This information will be taken into account when decisions on consolidating Russia’s national security and protection of its national interests are taken."

Patrushev recalled Moscow’s principled position that there could be no dividing the terrorists into "bad" or "good" ones.

"Struggle with this evil should be conducted in strict compliance with international norms and decisions of the UN Security Council," he said.

Patrushev voiced concern over the expansion of the area controlled by militants in Libya and the start of mass executions there.

"Intensification of terrorism in other parts of the world isn’t ruled out either," he said.(PNA/TASS)
