TEHRAN, Feb. 24 — So far eight billion cubic meters of gas have been produced by the largest phase of South Pars, announced Managing Director of Petro Pars Company Mohammad Javad Shams.

Speaking to reporters, he said the total value of the products of Phase 12 have so far been amounted to about USD 1.8, stressing that currently hundred percent of the equipment of Phase 12 have been installed.

He said since the beginning of the operation of Phase 12, eight billion cubic meters of gas, 2,200 tons of sulfur, and 11 million barrels of gas condensate have been produced in the phase of which about 9.2 million barrels of gas condensate have been exported and 1.8 million more barrels are to be exported soon.

Outlining the process of development of the phase, Shams said the project was transferred to Petro Pars in 1384 (2005-2006) and by the year 1388 it made 15% progress.

Since the administration of the 11th government in 1392 (2013-2014), he added, progress of the project has increased to 97% and during the same period USD 1.6 billion has been invested in it.

The official noted that only completion of three wells is remaining in the project which will be completed by the month of Shahrivar (August/September), adding that these wells should be drilled up to the depth of 4,000 meters of which 3,600 meters have been drilled so far.

Phase 12 of South Pars due to the extensive work volume and the investment made so far is the largest phase in the South Pars which is capable of producing gas and gas condensate equal to three standard phases.

The offshore phase 12 gas reserve is about 150 km of Assalouyeh coastline in Bushehr Province. (PNA/IRNA)
