STA. TERESITA, Cagayan, Feb. 17 (PNA) — Guests and visitors are expected to commune with nature as they do bird watching, caving, and boating at the Bangalao Lake for the 3rd National Ecotourism Festival slated on February 24 to 28 here.

Dubbed with the theme, “Birding Frenzy in February! Protecting Biodiversity, Preserving Nature’s Beauty,” the annual event aims to promote environmental awareness, protection and conservation aside from showcasing the vast ecotourism potentials of culture and heritage of the town, according to Department of Tourism officer Fanibeth Domingo.

Foreign and local participants will be based in Barangay Luga, which will serve as the venue of capability-building activities and information drives for biodiversity and environmental protection.

Caving, boating, camping and tree planting are among the come-ons of the event, aside from the carabao fashion show and bird watching by the lake. (PNA)
