PALAYAN CITY, Nueva Ecija, Feb. 16 — Governor Aurelio Umali has declared the suspension of classes at all levels in all public and private schools in Nueva Ecija on Friday (February 20) in deference for the celebration of the 85th anniversary of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) in the province.

In his Executive Order No. 001-s-2015, Umali noted that INC is one of the largest religious denominations in the Philippines.

The INC will be celebrating the 85th anniversary ecclesiastical districts in Nueva Ecija and Aurora on Feb. 20, 2015.

"The occasion is of great significance to thousands of Novo Ecijanos who are members of the INC and who will all be taking part in a prayerful gathering in celebration of their church's anniversary," Umali said in his first EO for the year.

The suspension of classes, the governor said, is a manifestation of "our people's solidarity with the INC brethren who have been part of our lives in many aspects."

He said iit is proper and fitting to give INC members an ample time to reflect on and to celebrate their faith on this important occasion.

The suspension of work in all public and private offices, on the other hand, is left to the sound discretion of their responsible authorities. (PNA)
