BERLIN, Feb. 3 — A hospital in Berlin declared an epidemic alarm after one patient showed Ebola symptoms, German local media reported on Monday.

Doctors of the emergency department at Kreuzberg Urban Hospital alerted the fire department shortly before 4:00 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), as a patient at ambulance station showed the Ebola symptoms, according to German newspaper "Berliner Zeitung".

The emergency department was initially closed off.

In a special ambulance, the patient was then brought into the isolation ward of German army hospital for more examination.

According to a spokeswoman for Health Senator Mario Czaja, as the patient who had been residing in Africa for a long time has flu-like symptoms, the "epidemic alarm" was triggered.

However, the case has not been confirmed yet. (PNA/Xinhua)
