CORON, PALAWAN, Jan. 29 (PNA) — This town, one of Palawan’s prime tourist destinations welcomes the return of the cruise ship MS "Caledonia Sky" on its sandy shores, and coincidentally, on Valentine’s Day.

The Municipal Information Office (MIO) of Coron said that with the arrival of the said cruise ship, the town’s title of “The Next Cruise Destination in the Philippines” will be further “strengthened.”

Coron, which also earned the “Best Island in the World” label, is the perfect holiday spot for passengers of the MS Caledonia Sky, who are looking for a haven to relax with from the normal routines of their everyday life, said the MTO.

Used to be the Hebridean Spirit, the cruise ship began her life with Noble Caledonia in May 2012.

Accommodating a maximum of 114 passengers in 57 spacious outside suites, the MS Caledonia Sky is similarly operated to a country hotel than the big cruise ships today.

Accordingly, the cruise ship has onboard “57 exceptionally spacious and well-designed suites, 23 of which have private balconies located on the Promenade or Bridge Decks.”

The suites exude grandeur with wood paneling, and brass features throughout. Each affords considerable comfort with en suite bathrooms presenting country style wash basins, hot towel racks, shaver outlets, and vanity units with sink and walk-in showers and/or corner bath tubs.

The Coron information office said the MTO is now busy preparing to welcome the passengers of the MS Caledonia Sky, and assures to give them a safe and exciting journey to best destinations like Kayangan Lake, Mount Tapyas, Makinit Hot Spring, and others.

The MTO said the tourist arrivals Coron is getting as share from those who flock to Palawan is the result of “strong environmental governance” that Mayor Clara Reyes’ administration is strictly implementing. (PNA)
