More projects up in Ivisan, Sapian and Mambusao towns in Capiz

IVISAN, Capiz, Jan. 24 — Interior and Local Government Sec. Mar Roxas gives more projects to Ivisan, Sapian and Mambusao towns in Capiz such as water systems, civic center, day care centers, barangay halls and farm-to-market roads.

Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) (DILG) regional director Anthony Nuyda turned over the checks in the amount of Php 4 million to Ivisan mayor Felipe Nire Yap last Thursday inside the municipal hall.

The amount represented fifty percent of the Php 8- million fund for Salin Tubig project or water system for three barangays namely Agustin Navarra, Agmalobo and Matnog.

Dubbed as Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig sa Lahat, Nuyda said that another Php 4 million would be released upon submission of engineering design for the system.

Nuyda, who is a lawyer, said that some Php 4.6 million from DILG be also given to Ivisan for the construction of nine barangay halls, 14 day care centers and one civic center.

In his response, Yap thanks 2nd District Fredenil Castro and Roxas for the projects as he personally asked the projects from the DILG secretary.

Yap also assured that the money given by the DILG would not be put to waste as he implements the projects.

Meanwhile, Nuyda, together with DILG provincial director Clynne Deocampo and other DILG personnel, on the same day, proceeded to Sapian to also turn over the checks for farm-to-market road and Php 5 million for Mambusao for Salin Tubig project.

In an interview, Mambusao Mayor Jose Alba, Jr. said that the DILG would give some Php 20 million for the water system while the municipality provides a Php 1 million counterpart fund, making a total of Php 21 million.

“We thank Sec. Mar Roxas for giving the projects and Reps. Fredenil Castro and Antonio del Rosario who facilitated it”, Alba said.

According to him, some six barangays namely Poblacion, Manibad, Proper Tabuc, Bato-Bato and Atiplo would benefit from the water system project.(PNA)
