MANILA, Jan. 19 — The Department of Health (DOH) advised on Monday all devotees who got rain-soaked while attending Pope Francis' Eucharistic Mass at the Quirino Grandstand in Rizal Park on Sunday to have warm bath, take hot lemon drinks and 1,000 mg of vitamin C to prevent getting sick.

In its advisory, the DOH also said that in case that such exposure to rainwater results to any untoward or sickly condition, the best advice is to see a doctor as soon as possible to prevent it from worsening.

Meanwhile, the DOH lauded the efforts of its Health Emergency Management Bureau, partner hospitals and volunteer organizations for their untiring dedication to look after the pilgrims and preventing the occurrence of serious injuries during the papal events.

It may be recalled that few weeks before the pastoral visit of Pope Francis, DOH spokesperson Dr. Lyndon Lee-Suy had continuously reminded the public, particularly the vulnerable and sickly persons, to observe helpful and healthy tips to ensure "injury-free" participation in the papal events.
