Bird flu kills 2 in China; 15 under treatment

BEIJING, Jan. 17 — At least two people have died of the deadly H7N9-strain of avian flu in east China's Fujian Province, officials said.

So far, 15 cases of bird flu have been confirmed in the province since the beginning of this year, according to the local health and family planning commission.

It was not immediately known when the two persons died.

One human infection was reported in the neighbouring Jiangxi Province yesterday. (PNA/PTI)
