No untoward incident on Pope Francis arrival –PNP

MANILA, Jan. 15 – No untoward incident was reported during the arrival of Pope Francis until he reached the Apostolic Nunciature on Taft Avenue in Manila, his official residence during his stay here, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Thursday.

”In behalf of the grateful nation and the PNP, we welcome the Pope, it is our honor to be part of security and protection of the holy father," PNP spokesperson Chief Supt. Wilben Mayor said.

Mayor also thanked the cooperation of well wishers who lined up the streets for hours and wildly cheered the Pope from the airport up towards the his billeting at the Apostolic Nunciature in Taft Avenue, Manila.

”Its an honor and divine privilege for the PNP to be part of this historic journey of the Holy Father. We wish him good health and everlasting energy to complete His Apostolic mission,” he said.

He said they are hoping that cooperation of the public will continue up to the last day of Pope Francis' visit. (PNA)
