Negros Occidental Football Association names new head

BACOLOD CITY, Jan 4 (PNA) – Ricky Yanson of Dynamic Football League has been elected president of the Negros Occidental Football Association (NOFA) during the association’s recent meeting here.

Yanson is taking over the leadership of former congressman Carlos “Charlie” Cojuangco.

This was confirmed by NOFA General-Secretary Paulline Javelona, who also said that San Carlos City Mayor Gerardo Valmayor Jr. was elected vice president.

The Board of Directors includes Junie Lizares (Minuluan FC), Raymando Baldava (Don Bosco FC), Mariano Antonio Cui III (San Carlos FC), Jose Ma. Sanson (Bago City FC), Augustine Rey Rivas (Kabankalan FC),and Gerald Pornan (Ma-ao FC).

Cojuangco sits as honorary board member.

Javelona said the new set of officers will formally take office following the general assembly on January 30.

Last year, Yanson conceptualized an age-group football tournament for grassroots football development in coordination with the Province of Negros Occidental.

The Yanson siblings, Ricky and Leo Rey, also own Ceres-La Salle Football Club that is competing in the big league in Manila.(PNA)
