WASHINGTON, Dec. 5 — North Korea has denied an allegation that it carried out a cyberattack against Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. in protest against its upcoming comic film depicting Pyongyang's leader Kim Jong Un, a U.S. report said Thursday.

Linking North Korea "to the Sony hacking is another fabrication targeting the country," Voice of America reported, quoting a North Korean diplomat in New York.

"My country publicly declared that it would follow international norms banning hacking and piracy," the unnamed official was quoted as saying.(PNA/Kyodo)
