Tunisian presidential election goes to a runoff

TUNIS, Nov. 25 — The two front runners in Tunisia's 2014 presidential election are heading for a run-off vote, the head of the Elections Board (ISIE) Chafik Sarsar announced on Tuesday morning in Tunis.

Leader of the Nidaa Tounes party, Beji Caid Essebsi won 39,46 percent of the vote, followed by independent candidate, the current Tunisian president, Moncef Marzouki, who got 33,43 percent. Both of them failed to get an overall majority in first round results. (PNA/Xinhua)
