IPHO reports 17 suspected cases of measles in Maasin town

ILOILO CITY, Oct. 15 –- The Iloilo Provincial Health Office (IPHO) has reported 17 suspected cases of measles in Maasin town with their serum samples now sent to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM).

Dr. Ma. Socorro Colmenares Quinon of the IPHO, in an interview Wednesday, said that the 17 suspected patients with measles have not been covered by the just concluded mass immunization campaign of the Department of Health.

These patients are from the barangays Trangka, Ubian and Mandog of Maasin in the third district of Iloilo province.

Some of them are still confined at the Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospital with their serum samples sent last Friday. The youngest patient is one year old while the oldest is 32 years old.(PNA)
