Myanmar hosts AFC U-19 Championship

YANGON, Oct. 9 — Myanmar started to host the Asian Football Confederation's U-19 Championship on Thursday.

The tournament until Oct. 23 will be played in Yangon's Thuwunna stadium and Nay Pyi Taw's Wunna Theikdi stadium.

The host Myanmar is in Group A together with Iran, Thailand and Yemen.

Group B is composed with Uzbekistan, Australia, UAE and Indonesia while Group C has South Korea, Japan, china and Vietnam as well as Group D with Iraq, North Korea, Qatar and Oman.

"We have prepared for this tournament for four months and we will try our best," said DPR Korea coach An Yegun at a press conference held in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

Oman coach Resheed Jaber Alyafai said that our footballers had practiced hard in Malaysia before the tournament.

The AFC U-19 Championship is the 38th edition of the tournament. (PNA/Xinhua)
