DPWH gears to implement Php65.2M FMR projects in Samar

TACLOBAN CITY, Oct. 9 — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is gearing to implement the Php65.2 million worth of farm-to-market roads (FMRs) in the first district of Samar.

The projects composed of five FMRs will focus on the concreting of 5.44 kilometers from Calbayog City to Sta. Margarita town, according to the Samar First District Engineering Office (SFDEO) information office.

Once completed, the projects covering Bahay-Gajo FMR; San Jose-Tanval-Himalandrog FMR; Looc-Jimautan FMR; Balud-Nabulo FMR and Dinabongan-Cabicahan FMR will benefit some 900 farmers, the information added.

The project funded by the Department of Agriculture (DA) will link existing public markets in the said areas.

The engineering design of the project, program of work and detailed unit price analysis have been prepared as part of the preparation for the procurement activities. (PNA)
