Filipino, American troops to construct school building in Cebu town

MANILA, Oct. 2 — The Central Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the United States Navy have joined forces to construct a three-classroom school building in Alonuinsan town, Cebu.

Lt. Cmdr. Jim Alagao, Central Command spokesperson, said the structure will benefit marginalized students studying at the Aloguinsan Central Elementary School.

Ground-breaking ceremony is scheduled on Friday.

Helping with the construction efforts are the 53rd Engineer Brigade and 5th Special Forces Company, the Philippine Navy Seabees, and the US Navy’s Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Four.

The team plans to finish the construction by February. (PNA)
