BRATISLAVA, Feb. 14 — Transport links between Slovakia and Czech Republic, energy projects and joint defense industries, will be the main points of a joint meeting between the two countries in the near future, stated Prime Minister Robert Fico and his Czech counterpart Bohuslav Sobotka on Thursday.

The newly-appointed Sobotka is on his first foreign assignment in Bratislava. According to the report by news agency TASR, the prime ministers agree to hold a joint Czech-Slovak ministerial meeting in a Slovakian city, and Fico prefered it was slated before the May elections of the European Parliament.

Both prime ministers have underlined transport, as a priority. "We should do as much as we can improve these links. It is an error and partly a disgrace, that there is only one speedway between Slovak Republic and Czech Republic," said Sobotka, as he promised to support the economic growth in the border regions.

Fico said that a link between the cities of Puchov and the nearest border crossing with Czech Republic, called R6, should be prioritized. "Speedways R6 and R5 are particularly important," he added.(PNA/Xinhua)
