MANILA, Feb. 13 (PNA) — A Catholic priest expressed sadness that the celebration of Valentine’s Day has become physical correlation between man and a woman.

“Ang Valentine’s Day ay naging masyadong pisikal ang paraan ng pagkakaintindi dito, kaya ang mga activities nila kaugnay ng pagdidiwang dito ay tumutukoy halos sa pisikal na ugnayan sa pagitan ng lalaki at babae…”said Father Kunegundo Garganta, executive secretary of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines-Episcopal Commission on Youth (CBCP-ECY) in an interview over Church-run Radio Veritas.

He is hoping that the public would celebrate the occasion by thinking on what would be best for himself or herself and to others.

For his part, Bangued Bishop Leopoldo Jaucian reminded married couples and those in a relationship to have a date with God first on Friday before they proceed with their respective dates with their loved ones.

Day,” said the chairman of the CBCP-ECY.

The Catholic prelate also asked parents to always take care and guide their children particularly in entering into a relationship.

To all the youth dapat ingatan ang sarili, pangalagaan ngayong Valentine’s Day,” he added.

Likewise, he reminded the youth to take care of themselves and don’t be scared in showing their love to their family.

(PNA)
