MANILA, Jan. 19 –The Civil Service Commission (CSC) announced over the weekend that applicants who plan to take the exam for the Career Service Examination – Paper and Pencil Test (CSE-PPT) for Professional and Subprofessional levels scheduled on April 6 may file their application until February 20.

The CSC said that it encourages applicants to file their applications earlier as applications is on ‘First come First Serve’ basis and applications for the said scheduled will not be accepted if the target number of applicants already reached the maximum.

According to CSC chairman Francisco Duque III, applications for the CSE-PPT may be filed at any CSC Regional or Field Office until the said date.

Duque said that CSC allows an individual to retake the same level of exam regardless of the number of times he or she failed.

“However, the same level of examination should not be retaken within three months,” he cited.

He however clarified that the three-month rule does not apply to applicants who wish to take a different level of exam from the one that he or she has previously taken.

Filipino citizens who are at least 18 years old, regardless of educational attainment may take the CSE-PPT.

“An applicant does not need to graduate a 4-year course before he or she can take the exam,” the CSC chief emphasized.

The passing rate is 80 and above and it will serve as an eligibility to work in the government and enjoy the privilege of serving the people.

For the applicants who are sons and daughter of a World War II veteran the CSC grants additional 10 points to the result of the exam rate of the said applicant.

For an instance, if the applicant got only a rating rate of 70 but he or she is a son/daughter of the Veteran his/her score rate will be 70 plus 10 or equivalent to 80.

Application forms for the examination are available at any CSC Regional or Field Office.

The list of other documentary requirements may also be downloaded from the CSC website www.csc.gov.ph.

Upon registration of application, the examinee will need to pay the PHP500 as examination fee for the CSE-PPT.

CSC-PPT is conducted twice every year to establish a register of eligibles from which certification and appointment to the second and first level positions in the government will be made, provided that the eligibility meet the qualifications and other requirements for the desired position are complied.

Meanwhile, the next set of CSC-PPT for this year is set on October 26.
