GUIUAN, Eastern Samar, Nov. 29 — Guiuan Sangguniang Bayan secretary Rectito Melquiades is pleased to report that no sickness of any kind was reported in the evacuation camps operated by the municipality.

The Eastern Samar town operates at least five evacuation centers for residents displaced by supertyphoon Haiyan.

"Thankfully, no sickness of any kind are reported yet in any of our camps," Melquiades said on Friday.

He attributes the lack of sickness to the strict sanitary rules and regulations being implemented by international organization, Medici Sans Frontiers, International Office of Migration, and the local government.

Melquiades added that they have more than sufficient medicines at hand.

He said included in these medicines are those stored by the Guiuan local government well before the arrival of the super typhoon. (PNA)
