AZERA vendor expertly de-meats a Baluko (shellfish) or a pen shell, which has meat similar to both scallops and mussel with tentacle-like extensions, in a local market in Sorsogon. Baluko shells are shown stacked up to either throw or use as ornamentation by local folk. It is among the products found only in the province of Sorsogon. (PNA photo by Azer N. Parrocha)
