DUMAGUETE CITY, Sept. 30 –- Police authorities early Monday raided a house and confiscated illegal drugs and unlicensed firearms in Barangay Combado, Bacong town in Negros Oriental following an anti-illegal drugs operation.

Armed with a search warrant, operatives swooped down on the house of Jorge Austero Solebio in Combado and seized three large sachets and a “bulto” (a street slang for a big volume) of suspected shabu granules, a police report said.

A subsequent search also yielded P22,680 in cash money believed to be proceeds from illegal drugs sales, one caliber .45 pistol with live ammunition and one cal. .38 pistol with live ammunition.

The search warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court Presiding Judge Fe Lualhati Bustamante dated September 25, 2013.

Solebio failed to present the necessary documents and licenses for the firearms, the police said.

The raiding team was composed of operatives from the Provincial Intelligence Branch, the Special Operations Group and the Philippine National Police provincial office.

Criminal charges are now being readied against the suspect, believed to be a big-time drug dealer, who is now detained at the Bacong police station. (PNA)
