MANILA, Sept 23 — Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Governor, Rosa Rosal expressed her gratitude to blood donors who have unconditionally continued to help those in need.

"No Filipino should die due to lack of blood,” Rosal said. “I am very happy that you are one with us on this advocacy. Thank you to all altruistic blood donors for your selfless acts. You are all heroes of this generation.”

“They play a key role in having an adequate blood supply for those in need of transfusion," said PRC Chairman Richard Gordon.

"I would also like to thank all selfless blood donors who make up the foundation of a safe blood supply. Patients who were saved from the deathbeds owe their lives to these unsung heroes," he added.

Meanwhile, PRC Secretary General Gwendolyn Pang said that no material rewards could compare to the satisfaction of knowing that a donors has helped another fellow human being.

“Our blood donors give much of their time and effort to come forward to give this gift of life", Pang said. (PNA)
