DSWD Caraga delivers P1.9M worth of relief goods to Zamboanga City

BUTUAN CITY, Sept. 13 — The Department of Social Welfare and Development Regional Office in Caraga region delivered almost P2 million worth of relief goods to Zamboanga City.

Ms. Leah Quintana, Regional Information Officer of the DSWD Regional Field Office, Caraga Region in an information released to the local media here said that the action is Caraga DSWD regional office' share in support of the on-going relief operation for the victims of armed conflict in Zamboanga City.

Quintana said that the relief goods coming from this region consisted of a total of 3,000 family food packs worth P827,833.33; four hundred and ninety (490) woolen blankets worth P336, 477.37 and a unit of wiikhall aluminum structure or a relocatable structure worth P821, 569.98. The wiikhall aluminum structure according to Quintana is used most frequently as a warehouse for storage and distribution of foods.

As DSWD Caraga Regional Director Minda B. Brigoli had given instructions to the Caraga personnel to fast track the delivery, the relief goods were hauled Wednesday to Zamboanga City and were expected to arrive on Thursday, she said. The total augmentation from DSWD Caraga amounted to P1,985,880.58, according to Quintana.

The DSWD has continuously augmented the local government there with relief goods, Quintana said. (PNA)
