MANILA, July 24 — Rains continues to fall in most parts of Luzon including Metro Manila due to Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) across Southern Luzon, the state weather bureau said on Wednesday.

Weather Forecaster Joey Figuracion said that in the next two to three days there was no sign of any weather disturbance near the Philippine area of responsibility but the dominant weather system to affect the country is ITCZ.

He also said that ITCZ, which is the breeding ground for low pressure areas (LPAs), is expected to bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains in most parts of Luzon including Metro Manila while weather is expected to improve in Visayas and Mindanao but still with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms.

In its advisory, PAGASA said Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, CAR, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon and the provinces of Rizal and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.

It added the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA also said that moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the southwest to south will prevail over northern and Central Luzon and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to occasionally rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the southeast to southwest with slight to moderate seas. (PNA)
